After nine long months of anticipation, you finally had the baby! You and your husband are so excited for the newest addition to your family. As excited as you are to have baby, you are not so excited about the baby weight that has decided to stick around. Ladies, I’ve been there, and it’s not fun! However, with a little exercise and a healthy diet, you can have that dreaded baby weight off in no time! Here are five ways you can burn off that baby weight:
Smoothies are one of my favorite snacks. It’s a great way to start the morning off, healthy and yummy! Now, there are two types of smoothies you could make, fruit and veggie. When making a fruit smoothie, make sure to add the healthiest of fruits. I think blueberries and strawberries are a good place to start. For veggie smoothies, try using a few superfoods. Kale is a great one to use! You could also mix the two types of smoothies, kale and blueberries is a double whammy of healthiness!
2. Get active
One of the best ways you can lose the baby weight is by being active. Even if it’s just a 30 minute walk it can help. The faster you get movin’, the quicker the baby weight will come off. Being active is a lifestyle choice and even if it’s a struggle at first, after 30 days it will become routine. After working out you feel happier, less stressed, have more energy and when you see the pounds drop you will be even happier.
3. Mommy and me classes
Another way to burn off the baby weight is at mommy and me classes. Bring your padded play mat with you; you’re going to need it! Taking a class with other moms who are going through the same thing as you will help you to get ideas about how to be healthy and they will serve as a motivator to help you succeed!
4. Enjoy the outdoors
Some people just don’t like going to the gym. That’s okay! There are tons of other ways you can get fit without having a gym membership. Whether snowshoeing, skiing, swimming, biking, hiking or playing tennis, any of these outdoor sports will help you reach your goal.
5. Find a friend
If you have a friend who is also trying to lose their baby weight, this will help to keep you on track. Invite your girlfriend over for walks, babies invited too! It has been proven that people who have a buddy along for the ride are more likely to stick to their workouts and eating plans
