Celebrating Baby’s First ChristmasThis is the most wonderful time of the year and that’s certainly true if you’re a mom or a dad. There’s nothing like seeing the wonder and excitement in the eyes of your child as you celebrate the holidays. If this is your first Christmas with your baby, you’ll have an especially good time. Here are some tips for making this time of the year magical.

1. Write a Christmas letter

Think back of the year and write down everything that happened and everything you are thankful for. Write it as a letter to your child that he or she will read some day when they are older. If you can manage it, do this every year and bestow them as a gift one Christmas to your child.

2. Take plenty of pictures

As the years pass, you’ll take fewer pictures of your children, but make sure to get Christmas photos while they’re young. Grab a few shots of your baby as he gazes at Christmas lights or opens gifts of new toys.

3. Start a new tradition

Surely you and your spouse have some traditions from your families, but a new addition to your family is the perfect time to start something new. Come up with something meaningful to do as a family that includes your new baby.

4. Visit Santa

Your baby isn’t going to understand Santa Claus just yet, but it’s a fun experience nevertheless. Plus you get a great picture out of it.

5. Dress baby in adorable pajamas

Use Christmas an excuse to dress your baby in loud, over-the-top pajamas with reindeer, Christmas trees, or gift boxes on them. There are TONS of these types of outfits for babies available pretty much everywhere this time of year.

6. Make a personalized ornament

This is a great time of year to create something meaningful. You can buy a regular ornament and add your child’s name and the date with a glitter pen to commemorate the specific year.

7. Set up lights everywhere

During the first year, your baby is amazed by anything that is colorful. Use multi-colored lights on your tree, the exterior of the house and even indoors (perhaps up the banister or over the fireplace mantle). With your supervision, let baby explore them.

8. Add baby to the holiday card

If you send out yearly Christmas cards, put baby’s face front and center. Have custom cards made at a local printer so everyone can see your little bundle of joy in their Santa hat!

organic bedding and accessoriesWritten by Jennifer Cicci of Babee Talk

As a mother, Jennifer understands the importance of offering nothing by the best for baby. Motivated by teeth marks on her children’s cribs, she decided to design a teething rail cover after trying products that didn’t measure up when it came to quality or style. What she found out made her even more concerned about children’s safety and health: The toxic chemicals used in the production of synthetic materials have been linked to birth defects, reproductive disorders, and weakened immune systems.

She asked herself, “What if I could revolutionize the way parents decorated their crib with a safe and stylish teething rail cover that could be placed on the crib from day one?” Babee Talk® launched in 2014 with organic bedding and accessories. Chew-friendly, drool-friendly, and organic inside and out, her products ensure a healthy start in life for babies.

She only offers products that she would provide for her own children. She hopes moms and dads will start to talk about the importance of choosing safe, healthy, eco-friendly products, especially for babies.
