benefits of babywearingBabywearing is the concept of carrying your baby or toddler in a sling around your body. Usually infants are carried in the front. When your child is older, you could wear him/her on your back. Babywearing offers a ton of benefits to mom and child.
  1. Babies cry less – For the same reason a baby stops crying when his mother picks up him, a baby in a sling cries less often. When mom is always there to offer comfort, your baby will cry less, even when they are out of the sling.
  2. You become attuned to your baby’s mannerisms – When your child is right in front of you all the time, you’ll become acutely aware of his/her gestures and cues, making communication easier.
  3. Other people can wear your baby too – A sling can be worn by anyone, including dads, grandparents and caregivers. This will help the baby bond with these people.
  4. Slings are cheap – If you wear your baby often, there’s no need to buy complex strollers, carriers or backpacks. Inexpensive slings can be purchased for around $25.
  5. Slings keep your hands free – Ever walk out of your home with so many things in your hands that you can hardly fit through the door? By carrying your baby on your chest, you just lightened your load.
  6. You’ll feel more comfortable with your little one so close – What mom wouldn’t want their precious bundle of joy right in front of them all the time?
  7. Babies learn more – Researchers report that babies in sling spend more time in quiet alertness. This is the time when they sit contently and soak everything in. Also, the human face is a potent stimulator and will help your baby understand people.
  8. Babywearing is a great way to exercise – New moms always have a hard time finding ways to work out. By wearing the baby you’re adding a few pounds of resistance wherever you go. Plus, the resistance increases over time!
  9. Babies feel secure in crowded or loud places – Your child will not fuss as much when you take him/her to a place that would overstimulate other babies, like crowded places or near lights or music.
  10. Babies are more organized – Organization is when a baby learns to regulate the facilities of his body, like his heart rate and breathing. It’s one of the reasons touch is so important for kids. Babywearing makes the baby in tune with mom’s heartbeat and breathing, teaching him/her how to do it for themselves (essentially extending the womb experience, which is healthy).
  11. Babies are smarter – Slung babies typically experience more in the same amount of time as un-slung babies. This is because they travel with the wearer (and receive stimulation) and aren’t set down in the swing or crib for a few minutes.

organic bedding and accessoriesWritten by Jennifer Cicci of Babee Talk

As a mother, Jennifer understands the importance of offering nothing by the best for baby. Motivated by teeth marks on her children’s cribs, she decided to design a teething rail cover after trying products that didn’t measure up when it came to quality or style. What she found out made her even more concerned about children’s safety and health: The toxic chemicals used in the production of synthetic materials have been linked to birth defects, reproductive disorders, and weakened immune systems.

She asked herself, “What if I could revolutionize the way parents decorated their crib with a safe and stylish teething rail cover that could be placed on the crib from day one?” Babee Talk® launched in 2014 with organic bedding and accessories. Chew-friendly, drool-friendly, and organic inside and out, her products ensure a healthy start in life for babies.

She only offers products that she would provide for her own children. She hopes moms and dads will start to talk about the importance of choosing safe, healthy, eco-friendly products, especially for babies.
